Clemson Sports Medicine
Clemson Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation is the creation of Neil Richardson, PT and Skip Hunter, PT, ATC. In 1984, Neil Richardson opened Anderson Physical Therapy and then developed seven more clinics under his direction. In 1991, he opened a Physical Therapy clinic in Clemson, South Carolina and then developed a co-ownership of the clinic with Skip Hunter in 1994. The current corporation was born on April 26, 1994 and has met productive and consistent growth over the years. A merger between the Anderson, Greenwood, and Saluda clinics with the clinics in the Carolinas and Georgia now provides twenty-three clinics for the corporation. Plans are continually being molded for new clinical sights in the Southeast as our company shapes a successful past, present, and future.

Sports Plus
Sports Plus is the entity that Skip Hunter and Neil Richardson developed to promote future expansion within the corporation while maintaining individuality within each clinic. Acting as a corporate entity of Clemson Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, our Sports Plus clinics pride themselves in their focus on Orthopedics and Sports Medicine with continued development of Athletic Training services through Sports Medicine Outreach Programs in almost every clinic.

The Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers in these locations provide a teamwork approach to patient care utilizing state of the art equipment for strength training, joint mobility and stability, proprioceptive and gait retraining, sport-specific exercise, speed and agility drills, power fundamentals, and manual therapy techniques to restore the patient to an optimal level of function. When working with athletes, these clinicians maintain close communication with referring physicians and emphasize injury prevention in the curriculum while rehabilitating the athlete to reach peak athletic performance.

As with each of our clinics, our Physical Therapy services treat various conditions including, but not limited to, neurological disorders, vestibular and balance deficiencies, fibromyalgia, spine dysfunctions, and work conditioning. With our broadest patient population being general orthopedics and sports medicine cases, our clinicians are highly skilled in the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic and sports-related injuries, thus creating a solid network of professionals with vast knowledge and experience in this evolving field of healthcare.
