| Clinic History: | ||||
| Originally established in our Sports Plus clinic in Charleston, South Carolina, the Balance Program began with traditional physical therapy methods to address patients’ balance and proprioceptive deficits. As the demand for such services in the community grew, we asked ourselves how we could better serve the patients and families afflicted by these debilitating conditions and the physicians searching for a clinician to provide this therapeutic treatment for their patients. The answers lie in the development of a separate and unique clinic which utilized high technology equipment paired with clinical expertise for evaluation and treatment of patients with balance and vestibular disorders. Developed in 2003, The Balance, Mobility, and Dizziness Center of Charleston provided this answer. | ||||

| New Developments: | ||||
| Excitement is growing about the recent development of our balance and vestibular program in our Balance Center located in Charleston, South Carolina. Conducted by one of our therapists who earned certification in vestibular rehabilitation, the program involves the use of our SMART Balance Master System. By using computerized biofeedback technology, this piece of equipment allows the therapist to objectively assess patients’ physical function, balance and vestibular disorders, sensory deficits, and mobility problems. Once the assessment is complete, the therapist then designs a treatment program to specifically address any deficits the patient is experiencing. | ||||
